Samenvatting: |
Building as Material Banks’ is the wider concept where corresponding business models reside. In its essence, a business model is describing the way ‘how we actually make money’ by defining the value proposition and build up an understanding if the model is economically viable. This is done by providing insights on how we create value, and market and deliver the offerings to the target customers segments, including potential revenues generated.
The material bank on its own will not generate money. We need to understand who owns the material and data (and makes the decision to reuse), who will need this for re-purpose, etc. So, the concept of material banks contains many different business opportunities, that have a value for the different roles in the industry. How to capitalize on this, we first build an understanding what type of mechanisms are to be considered to successfully extract the value out of the BAMB outputs and have a way to assess the value and reuse options to the industry. These mechanisms, or business models, enables the concept of material banks.

Samenvatting: |
The BAMB framework for materials passports (MP) described in this report extract provides a basis for Material Passports and supports development, prototyping, and constant improvement of the passports and the enabling materials passports platform (MPP). Materials Passports developed in BAMB are sets of data describing defined characteristics of materials in products that give them value for recovery and reuse.
The framework for materials passports includes contributions of BAMB partners and was mainly developed by EPEA and SundaHus.

Samenvatting: |
Policies, standards and regulations will have a crucial impact on the applicability of dynamic and circular building design. For example, in terms of circular business model development, such instruments all have a bearing on value creation. Governments and regulators have the potential to be influencing forces in all phases of a building’s lifecycle. In addition, public authorities can take a key role as early adopters and leaders in embedding and normalising circularity.
The transition to a dynamic and circular built environment1 requires both action and vision. This transition will need systemic changes, boosting opportunities and eliminating barriers, going beyond technical innovation. The Framework for Policies, Regulations and Standards provides a roadmap for changes which will allow the transformation of the industry to circular principles, through a set of recommendations to guide policy-makers
